Moments on Path: Journal of Fatherhood
“Path inadvertently became my journal of fatherhood.
It seems that the sharing of pictures of one’s kids on other social networks is done to prove that your kid is cuter, faster, or stronger than the next. Sharing becomes synonymous with comparing. And while I’m so proud of my kids, sharing moments is more introspective for me. Sharing is journaling.
Because Path is only for my closest friends and family, sharing moments of my kids has become my journal of fatherhood. Every moment becomes another entry in a beautiful, yet simple journal of life as a father and has helped me to cherish the time, past and present, I have with my wife and kids.
Revisiting past moments in my Path takes me back through videos of the family swinging under the tree, pictures of the kids trying foods for the first time, and even a check-in at the hospital when my wife when into labor. In my two years with Path, I’ve grown to share more intimately because of its private nature, which organically allowed Path to become my journal of life. Yes, Path is for sharing present moments with our close friends and family, but it’s also for the future and how I hope my kids will reminisce their lives as well as allow them to feel as though they’re seeing themselves through my eyes.” -Steven, Austin

Happy Father’s Day to Steven and all of our wonderful dads!
